I'm sorry I haven't been on and looked at everyone's pages in a while. In any case, I hope you all at least are alive and doing okay. :)

A quick update:

I've just tested for staff sergeant for my fourth time. (I know, pretty dumb) Hopefully, I did well enough on the test this time. I'll find out in August if I made it.

I got tasked for Airman Leadership School, as I'm one of the highest ranking Senior Airmen in my shop. I'm taking that as an extra sign that I'm long overdue for stepping up. I've been in the military for about five and a half years now, so it's about time I stepped out of my comfort zone and became more of the leader that I'm supposed to be.

I'm still on Honor Guard (please check out my poem which I just posted, when you get a chance!), which has been pretty rewarding.

I'm also still one of the Sunday School teachers for the kids at my church. That, too, has been rewarding and fun.

Take it easy, everyone, and again, please forgive me for neglecting your journals and your art. I'll try to hit you all up when I get back on. I'm about to be a busy boy with Leadership school, though.

God bless,
Zajon aka David

Well, this is a first in a long time. Being up this early on an offday. To explain, I'm due to work midshift this upcoming week (which I do NOT like), so I pulled a successful all-nighter to get in the swing of it. Personally, I like going to sleep when it's dark out and it feels like most of the world is dormant. Well, this morning, as the sun was coming up, I decide to take a walk. When I first went out, most of the sky was dominated by a massive storm cloud, with the northern part clear and displaying some of the early light. By the time I got back to my place, though, more of the sky was clear and gorgeous. There's something symbolic in that.

So much I should update on here. I haven't used this journal as frequently as I used to, because I'm so used to keeping everyone up to date now with Facebook. Still, I miss using this journal.

Well, I'm out. Lord bless.

It was set. I had last Friday off as a comp day, so that I could go see the midnight opening of "The Dark Knight" without worrying about falling asleep during the workday. I was all psyched Thursday. It was my last work day for the week, and then later that night I would go see the movie that I'd been waiting on for a few years.

And then, I got one of the best text messages. "I need my keys" It was from freaking JOSH P. :iconfuntana777: He was one of my closest friends on this base, but had deployed to Iraq back in January, and I had no clue when he was supposed to get back. Well, turned out he was back in the states. As soon as I got off work, I met up with him, and when I told him I was seeing TDK, we both agreed that he should come along. We were very lucky to still snag some tickets that afternoon for the midnight show. So, we took off to see it, and MAN, what a movie! Heath Ledger gave true justice to that character, and it was obvious that he had fun with the role.

Well, here I am a week later, having seen the film three times, for a good reason. I'd originally gotten tickets for the 8:15 show on Friday, but then found out about the midnight show and had to secure that. And then, I saw it the third time because I'd already planned on seeing it with a particular friend.

Now, if anyone is interested, I've started and am almost done with a story concerning how the character snapped, based on Heath Ledger's interpretation of the character. I'll post a journal when it's up, because the name of the submission won't read anything obvious like "Joker Origin".

Anyway, I've spent way too long on the computer, so I'm going to head out.

Peace

PEACE OUT, GUYS

I am today a normal civilian named David. I am a recent high school graduate, am currently unemployed, and at the moment I live with my parents. When I get back on after roughly seven weeks, if not more, then I will be a member of the United States Air Force. My residence will be in the hands of the military, and I will be learning a trade that will benefit not only the Air Force but also the country in some way or another.

I didn't type that in a narcisstic (spelling?) manner, but rather to explain my soon-to-be absence. Tomorrow, I leave for Baltimore, and then on Tuesday I fly down to San Antonio, Texas, to begin Basic Training. It will last seven weeks total, after which I go directly to Tech School to learn my trade, which is Aerospace Ground Maintenance. I will try to get on the computer sometime after Basic to say yo to everybody.

I don't know who all will care or not, but I'm just putting this out there for you.

I'll talk to you guys whenever.

Peace out!
